Gachiakuta chapter 156, “The Ancient Rulers,” reveals the real source behind the powers of Givers. Mymo explains to Rudo that Giver abilities are connected to ancient energy left behind by beings called the Ancient Rulers, and he believes this energy is what caused humans on the Ground to evolve into Givers. He also reveals that the Ancient Rulers were once called “gods,” which shocks Rudo because Regto had taught him about gods in the past. Mymo becomes obsessed with finding out who erased the concept of gods from the Ground and loses control, destroying his own microphone and causing a massive explosion across Andio. Rudo realizes that Mymo’s obsession has consumed him, and despite both his arms being injured, he decides he has one final way to fight: combining Gountess’s Watchman Series power with his own.
