Gachiakuta Manga Chapter 172
Gachiakuta chapter 172, “United by Fate,” moves into the Hell Guard Arc and is mostly a lore-heavy conversation between Rudo and Kyouka. Kyouka questions Rudo about his 3R ability, and Rudo explains that he can draw out the hidden value of objects and use up to three objects at once, while sugar helps him recover after overusing his ability. Kyouka then explains that every Vital Instrument has a price, and the stronger the instrument, the greater that price can be. The conversation becomes much more serious when they discuss the Ground, the Ancient Rulers, gods, and the Four Apostles. Kyouka reveals that Vital Instruments normally lose their power when their Giver dies, unless they contain something called anima from the gods. She also discovers that the phrase “Stalwart and Pure,” which Rudo associates with Sphere, is connected to the beliefs of the Hell Guard and the Nijiku family, suggesting that Sphere and the Ground share a hidden history. The chapter ends with the mystery of the gods and Four Apostles becoming much bigger than Rudo originally realized.
